Dedkor Stonehart Born in Westfall to a stout Provinincial preacher named Ben Stonehart and his wife Jacklynne. The preacher was commissioned by the Cathedral in Stormwind City to bring the teaching of the Light to the good folk of Moonbrook. Over the next six years after Dedkor's birth, his father preached the word. Another son was born, Korbro, and life went on in its simple way.
The Real Damon
![]() Yet the influence of Van Cleef and his foul Defias gang spread like a disease throught Westfall. Farmers, tradesmen, and merchants alike were forced to pay the blood tithing of extortion. Morally outraged, Dedkor's father organized a stout hearted band of followers in an ill-conceived uprising against the criminal authority of Van Cleef. Not one to let his iron grip on power be wrested from him, Van Cleef and his minions utterly destroyed the small but righteous uprising. Dedkor Stonehart |
Upon hearing word of her husbands failure, Jaklynne Stonehart realized Van Cleef would swear vengeance on the heirs of his vanquished foe...Dedkor and Korbro. Her choice was clear. A dash throught the heart of the night in a desperate attempt to reach the safety of the King's men at Sentinel Hill. As she gathered a few things for their escape, she heard the scream of the hired man at the gate. The Defias had come to call and death was in the cold night air.
I was now that Dedkor, future Paladin and servant of the Light, but 6 years old, began his Heroe's Journey. Jacklynne thrust the infant boy Korbro into the arms of his older brother, Dedkor. She took him by the shoulders and said to him, "Now run boy. Run to the torches of Sentinel Hill. Keep your brother safe. I love you, son. For your father's sake...GO!" With tears blinding him, Dedkor stumbled off into the cold night, struggling with his burden. With the guidance of the Light of his People, which shone brightly in his heart, somehow the boy made it to Sentinel Hill. Now Jacklynne, after seeing her boys off into the darkness took up torch and dagger and boldly went out to meet the Defias. She hoped to buy her boys some time with her life. But kill her they did not. The poor woman was beaten, ravaged and left for dead. The next morning she was found near death, broken, bloody, and without her wits. The townsfolk carried her to the King's men at Sentinel Hill. But before Dedkor's broken mother arrived. The guards on duty at Sentinel Hill realized that if word reached Van Cleef that the Stonehart boys were here, he might summon the audacity to attack the King's men themselves. Fearing the upheaval and instability that would follow such a confrontation, the boys were loaded on a cart of goods bound for Stormwind City. Jacklynne eventually wound up in the care of the folk at Northshire Abbey in Elwynn. Frail and in poor health, she spends her days there in silence. Her mind locked away in some inner prison, she never spoke again. Even over the years when her sons would visit, the light of sanity was never again re-kindled in her eyes. She remains there unto this very day. The Stonehart boys, Dedkor and Korbro, were taken to the orphanage in Stormwind City. There, they were brought up in the shadows of the Cathedral of Light. The two boys were very different though. Whereas Dedkor was open truthful and well behaved. Korbro on the other hand, was a troubled youth. Continually lashing out at authority, neglecting his studies, and spending more time being punished than not. Dedkor's one weakness may be his nefarious brother Korbro. Disfigured from a childhood accident, he grew to become the bitter fruit of his bad seed. Angry and self-righteous, he roams the back alleys and canals of Stormwind eking out a meager rogue's existence. He remains begrudgingly loyal to Dedkor and the Reign of the Phoenix. He relies on the kindness of his brother , who he resents so much , to help him further his twisted dream of becoming a master enchanter. Occasionally he visits his mother at the Abbey to re-fuel his discontent. Here he runs into his brother, Dedkor, from time to time and the bickering ensues. As Dedkor made his way towards becoming a young man, he spent more and more of his time at the Cathedral. In those days it was a wonderful place where all sorts would travel to study and learn from the Servants of the Light. And there was Dedkor. Always there questioning, listening and learning from the endless procession of travellers, wisemen, warriors, priests, paladins, and even the Elven emmisaries of Kalimdor. This was his schooling in the ways of wisdom, honor, and virtue. When he began his training as a Paladin in adolesence he was already wise beyond his years. His story after being commissioned by the Cathedral as a Paladin is HIS to tell you.
